Last year was the inaugural event and it proved so popular that it’s returned to grace us for another season.

The Harvest Haus Oktoberfest Festival returns in October to bring a “mini Münich” to the Queen Elizabeth Plaza in downtown Vancouver.

Each four-hour seating promises an authentic German experience for 1,200 people complete with Medieval minstrelsy, Bavarian brass oompah bands, live DJ’s and even a sawdust sprinkled dance floor.

This year, Chef Stefan Hartmann of Bauhaus restaurant is whipping up some traditional Oktoberfest delicacies such as Spätzle, Brezen, Bratwürst, Schnitzel and Sauerkraut. Sit at the long communal tables and enjoy European beers in ceramic Bierkrugs (steins) and specialty German wines.

New for this year, die-hard Oktoberfest fans can purchase premium ticket packages dubbed the “König Paket” or King’s Package. For $275, you get entry to all nine of the Harvest Haus seatings with VIP entry to two of them, a 10 karat gold-plated bier stein, custom-made lederhosen or dirndl and discounts on everything for sale at Harvest Haus – yes, including beer.
