The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has launched an investigation after a 19-year-old individual was fatally shot inside a vehicle in Surrey.
The incident occurred on Sunday, December 27, just after 10:30 pm in the area of 137A Street and 90 Avenue. Emergency services were called “for a man in a vehicle needing medical assistance.”
The victim was identified as Harman Singh Dhesi, who was found with gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The shooting is believed to be a targeted incident, and investigators say that they are working to determine the motive behind the shooting.
“The initial phase of any investigation is critical for us as we move quickly to secure time-sensitive and perishable evidence,” says Sergeant Frank Jang of IHIT in a statement. “We are appealing to anyone with dash cam video to secure the footage and to contact us immediately.”
