The owners of Hapa Izakaya announced late last year the launch of its new restaurant, Hapa Umi, which is set to open March 2011. Hapa Umi will be located in the vacated Metro Restaurant in Vancouver’s waterfront, across the street from the Vancouver Convention Centre. Construction is well under way at 200 Burrard.
Hapa Umi is expected to be a more sophisticated, grown up version of Hapa Izakay. I eagerly anticipate its arrival as a fan of Hapa Izakaya’s (with three current locations in Kits, Robson & Yaletown) I’m excited to see what this new concept has in store.
