This mysterious food cart has no name, serves only two items and only accepts cash – and it’s worth the trip to Granville and Pender. On Yelp it’s referred to as Hamburger $2.85 and until now, very few knew about it.
There are no fries and no shakes, just a hamburger and cheeseburger.
The burger comes on a fresh toasted bun with a tomato, iceberg lettuce, teriyaki and mayo. You can add cheese for an additional $0.65.
The food truck is run by Taku Kakimi. The burgers have a Japanese flavour to them. Could this be the making of the burger equivalent to Japadog?
The burger is a serious contender for one of the best burgers in the Vancouver. In a city where burgers can sometimes get too complicated, there’s something to be said about a simple burger. Sometimes, simple is better, and in this case, delicious.
