Halloween is right around the corner, and you’re looking for things to do. You’re sick and tired of all the Pub Crawls and massive line-ups on Granville Street. What should you do?

Spend your weekend exploring Corn Maze’s and Pumpkin Patches.

Take a day trip out to Maple Ridge or Richmond and choose from thousands of pumpkins. After you find the perfect pumpkin, see if you can make it through the “corn-fusing” maze.

Have a pumpkin carving party with friends, and roast some of the seeds. It’s a perfect way to end a cold October Day.

How about a night out in Chinatown for some Burlesque?

Check out The Keefer Bar on a Thursday night and take a trip back in time in this bar reminiscent of a Shanghai Alley. The atmosphere is unique, and has a distinctive, prohibition flair that stands out from Vancouver’s lounge scene.

Nibble on some Asian influenced plates, and have a intricately designed cocktail while enjoying some of Vancouver’s own talent. Sweet Soul Burlesque appears every Thursday at 10PM at The Keefer Bar, 135 Keefer Street.

And for those that haven’t checked out Fright Nights, you better make a trip down to the PNE this year.

It goes through till Oct 31st, and is perfect for those looking for a bit of a scare. There is nothing like riding a creaky wooden roller coaster at night, followed by one of the horrifying haunted houses.

Decapitation, insane asylums, and the monsters of Schlock – you are guaranteed laughs and screams at this long-time, annual event.

On from 6pm-late nightly, be sure to check it out, rain or shine.
