GROW Conference 2014 Heads to the Hyper-Connected Hills of Whistler

Dec 19 2017, 6:35 pm

The GROW Conference, entering it’s 5th year, is moving to Whistler, BC, on August 20-22. GROW will explore the impact, challenges and opportunities of living in a connected world. The conference will showcase the latest innovations in wearables, smart devices, 3D printing, connected cars, drones, and industrial breakthroughs. It unites leading tech entrepreneurs, investors, executives, and creatives from Silicon Valley and across North America in one place – Whistler’s most futuristic hotel, the Fairmont Chateau Whistler.

“GROW is where innovation collides with sport and the outdoors. The Village takes attendees into the open air to experience the Internet of Things first-hand,” says GROW Founder, Debbie Landa from her Silicon Valley office. “Over the next 3-5 years, Whistler is poised to be the most connected resort in the world. No other venue can better showcase the innovation around wearables, smart cities, and quantified self; every visitor is a walking beta tester.”

Attendees will learn about industry trends from the world’s leading companies, share mountaintop gondola rides for high altitude pitches, play with the latest in IoT advancements at the GROW concept store and join a morning fitness challenge, all while testing the latest activity trackers against their peers.

Val Litwin, CEO of the Whistler Chamber of Commerce is ecstatic that the conference is moving to Whistler. “From wearables and smart devices, to 3D printing and robotics, GROW showcases the future of innovation and The Internet of Everything. Whistler companies like Lightmaker Group and Payroll Hero are building solutions for global markets, and Vancouver brands like Recon Instruments rely on Whistler as the primary testing ground for their award-winning wearables. Whistler has the potential to become the most connected resort in the world – a living lab for Silicon Valley and a place where the future city comes to life.”
