You know it, you love it, you’ve maybe even climbed it. Grouse Mountain is celebrating 100 years of remarkable memories, amazing people, and extraordinary experiences with a major event that you don’t want to miss.

Grouse Mountain Centennial Festival is set to be a week of unforgettable experiences at The Peak of Vancouver.

From fantastic shows and family-friendly activities to limited-time adventure offers, there’s something for everyone to enjoy while taking in the mountain atmosphere.

Here’s what you can expect.

On July 23, 24, 25, and Aug. 2, guests can experience an unforgettable nighttime cinematic drone show that celebrates the history of the mountain, the surrounding region, and the people who have shaped it over the past century.

Hundreds of illuminated drones will light up the night sky above the Birds in Motion area, accompanied by cinematic music, Indigenous drumming, and immersive narration.

If an outdoor concert is your jam, then you’ll want to visit on July 31 and Aug. 1 for lovely evenings of live music in the Plaza. July 31 will feature tunes from Nearly Neil, Canada’s premier Neil Diamond tribute band, and Aug. 1 will showcase Nautical Disaster, one of Canada’s top Tragically Hip tribute bands. It’s the songs you already know and love performed in a unique and breathtaking mountaintop setting.

Fun for the whole family

While the entire festival is family friendly, a few key events are especially beloved by kids. On July 25, celebrate the 25th birthday of Grinder and Coola — Grouse’s resident grizzly bears. At this Bear-thday Fun-draiser, you can watch the bears feast on their annual birthday cake while learning about grizzly bear conservation from the Grizzly Bear Foundation.

Then on July 30, bring a blanket and enjoy a movie under the stars in the newly rebuilt Birds in Motion area. It’s a relaxing way to spend a summer evening, and who doesn’t love Jurassic Park?
