Groom thrown from horse in Surrey Indian wedding (VIDEO)

A groom that was thrown off from a horse during his Indian wedding in Surrey over the weekend was fortunate to not be seriously injured from the incident.

Video submitted to Vancity Buzz shows that the horse was experiencing signs of discomfort when the groom climbed onto the saddle from the animal’s right side.

The horse then begins to circle around its handler before running off away from the crowd of wedding guests and throwing the groom onto the grass. People screamed and ran to the man’s aid to see if he is injured.

The series of events occurred within the span of less than a minute.

The horse’s owner told CBC News that the groom’s shoes and sword may have been sticking to the side of the animal, which prompted the violent behaviour.

A witness also told Vancity Buzz the horse was allegedly fed marijuana prior to the wedding. Additional video footage apparently shows a man feeding the horse marijuana while it is in the trailer; a man is heard on video saying “he’s gonna feed the horse some weed.”
