Greek Heritage Month comes to a close on Sunday, but with Greek Day Vancouver 2016, it will be a fine farewell.
The largest one-day Greek festival in Vancouver takes place from 11 am to 9 pm along five blocks of Broadway, and will feature tons of food, performers, events, and activities.
Throughout the day, three stages will host Greek music, dances, and singing performances.
At the Cook Culture’s Cooking Demonstration Kitchen, professional chefs and enthusiastic foodies will come together for presentations, preparation, and tasting. Visit the Hellenic Experience Tent to be immersed in Filotimo (meaning hospitality, friendship, and honour in Greek), and taste and learn about different types of olive oil, olives, and Greek cheeses – all while finding out what a typical Greek village lifestyle is like.
The Kid’s Zone has plenty of activities, complete with games, energizing activities, and children’s entertainment. Kids can take part in plenty of arts and crafts and then take in the live performances, musicians, and storytellers.
