Great Bear Patties - there's a new Gluten-Free Cookie in Town!

Gluten-free? Rejoice! There’s a new cookie in town! Say hello to Great Bear Patties.

I met Tracy Lydiatt at The Wellness Show (in my other life, I do publicity and they are one of my clients), and was immediately drawn to her infectious laugh and her “bear poop.”

At a busy trade show with 300 exhibitors it can be tough to stand out, but Tracy’s cookies, Great Bear Patties, which she debuted at the show just five weeks ago, were one of the highlights for me.

Gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, vegan, and paleo-friendly, you’d expect the cookies to taste like sawdust, but they are really delicious! The are a bit of a cross between a chocolate macaroon and a two-bite brownie, with a slight crunch from the cacao nibs. They’re not overly sweet, but they pack enough of a chocolate punch to make you think you’re eating something rich and indulgent. But these chocolate-coconut-goji-berry cookies are actually quite good for you.

Since launching her product a month and a half ago, Tracy’s business, which is also socially responsible (she supports non-profit organizations with green initiatives), is getting into grocery stores and gyms all over the lower mainland, and she has also auditioned for The Dragon’s Den.

Who knew bear poop could be so healthy and successful?

Here’s my interview with Tracy:
