Granville Loops Redesign

Dec 19 2017, 1:16 pm

Changes are coming to the southern portion of downtown, more specifically, the area surrounding the Granville Street loops. The existing loops will be removed to form a new street pattern, which will allow for further development/densification of the neighbourhood.

The above is a rendering of the proposed building heights. Below indicates the realignment of the street grid and indicates the maximum building heights for the area.

This is what the loops currently look like.

The area immediately surrounding the loops is a pedestrian dead zone and more of a thoroughfare for people coming in and out of downtown. Once the redesign of the loops is complete it should boost the pedestrian activity in that neighbourhood.
