2015 Grammy nominations released, Canadian artist The Weeknd nets seven

The nominees for the the 2015 Grammy Awards have been released. Hip-hop virtuoso and golden boy Kendrick Lamar came out on top, netting 11 nominations including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Dance Recording, and Best Rap Performance.

Canadian artist – and recent Vancouver visitor – The Weeknd netted seven nominations, including Album of the Year for Beauty Behind the Madness, Record of the Year with “Can’t Feel My Face”, and Best R&B Performance with “Earned It” from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack.

Justin Bieber got a tip of the hat this year for Best Dance Recording with “Where Are Ü Now,” his collaboration with Diplo and Skrillex.
