Good Samaritan stabbed while helping woman in Vancouver

Police are investigating after a 40-year-old man was stabbed while trying to help a woman being assaulted.

Between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 3rd, the Good Samaritan observed a man hitting a woman on East 3rd Avenue near Victoria Drive. When he tried to intervene, he was stabbed multiple times.

The suspect and unknown woman left the area and the victim went to hospital on his own for treatment.

The man believed responsible for the stabbing was described as white, with “dirty” skin, early 40s, about 5’5″ tall, blonde short curly hair, and skinny with a muscular build. He was wearing a brown hoody, black jeans and dark shoes.

The woman who was assaulted, and who then witnessed the stabbing, is described as white, about 6’0″ tall, with long curly blonde hair. She is in her late 30s or early 40s and was wearing a white shirt with pink designs on it and blue capri jeans.
