B.C. mountains and frozen lakes featured in gorgeous figure skating video

B.C. is a truly stunning place to live, and it’s videos like these that provide us with a much-needed reminder.

Bradley Friesen shot another gorgeous figure skating video high up in the mountains of British Columbia using only his helicopter, a few cameras, and, of course, a talented skater (you can watch the first one here).

The video was shot in an area called “The Mystics” in Golden Ears Provincial Park at an elevation of 5,200 feet, Friesen tells Vancity Buzz.

“It’s called The Mystics because of this crazy blue green colour of the lakes, which you can see in the ice,” he says.

The skater, Katrina Lazazarotto, hadn’t been on ice in about four years, and Friesen says they ended up having to stop at a second hand shop on their way to the airport to buy her a pair of skates.

Well, it all came together in a spectacular fashion. Watch the video below.
