Never underestimate the impact that a great outfit can have on a woman’s confidence. On July 25, look good and feel good by shopping for a cause.
Dress for Success Vancouver is a registered charity committed to empowering women into the workforce by providing professional attire, interview coaching and a career development program. That’s the answer Marketing and Sponsorship Manager Christina Florencio gave when asked to describe DFS Vancouver in a nutshell.
But if you asked some of the women impacted by Dress for Success Vancouver what the organization means to them, you may get a much simpler answer.
They get the chance to walk into a room full of high-quality clothing and put themselves together piece by piece. There are few words to describe that moment but “hopeful.”
“I see women come into the boutique feeling broken and leave with their head held up high and feeling beautiful. It is an immediate transformation that is so powerful to see, both for our volunteers and our clients,” says Florencio. “Women come through our doors, go through our three programs and complete our 18-month Professional Women’s Group a couple of years later. They graduate a newer version of themselves: confident, fulfilled and ready to give back.”
The general public now has the chance to give back as well and ensure that ongoing resources are available for the women who need them.
Shop for a Cause is a clothing sale put on by Dress for Success Vancouver three times a year at Harbour Centre’s upper mall level. Their next sale is happening for one day only on July 25.
Shop tons of quality clothing and accessories, from designer vintage purses to brand name shoes, jewellery, and bottoms (pants and skirts) starting from only $5.
One hundred per cent of all funds raised will go towards Dress For Success Vancouver’s programs, including their dressing services, career centre and the Professional Women’s Group.
