Bigger, bolder & brighter: Glowbal by Glowbal now open

One of the city’s most anticipated restaurant relaunches has finally taken place. Located in Vancouver’s newest architectural landmark, TELUS Garden, Glowbal, the namesake and flagship restaurant of Glowbal Restaurant Group, has opened at 590 West Georgia Street.

Priding itself on being “big, bold, and unapologetically chaotic,” the swanky new 17,000 square-foot dining venue is decidedly modern and boasts many distinctive features.

Faced with a blank canvas, the Glowbal Restaurant Group, along with the help of Box Interior Design (Black + Blue, MARKET by Jean-Georges, Yaletown Brewing Company), have created a space how they see fit.

With such freedom the restaurant not only showcases a hyper-stylized and sleek setting, but also many unique elements, like a varied selection of private dining rooms, each with their own distinct personality. Take for instance the “Players Room,” which includes a private dining area with quilted leather wall cladding, lounge seating, and two flatscreen televisions.

Serving lunch and dinner daily, in addition to weekend brunch (come September), the expansive double decker restaurant is also home to a bustling open kitchen, Canada’s first custom built Robata Grill, and a gathering of human sized bird cages on the 150-seat outdoor patio.

As far as the menu goes, diners can expect to find a range of modern North American cuisine. Menu highlights include the highly regarded satays from Yaletown’s original Glowbal Grill, Truffled Spaghetti and Signature Meatballs, Queso Fundido, Chili and Garlic Fried Sea Bass, and Miso Marinated Sablefish.

“We have taken menu elements from each location’s preferred dishes and seamlessly melded them into a unified concept at the new Glowbal,” stated Emad Yacoub (President and CEO of Glowbal Restaurant Group) in a media release. “From menu favourites, to atmosphere, to dining and seating options, the best of the best is here.”

From the bar, patrons will discover a carefully curated wine list complete with old and new world vintages, plus rare cellar gems, in addition to an inventive cocktail menu filled with playful yet sophisticated creations.

Glowbal Restaurant Group are no strangers to the dining scene, in fact they have a collection of restaurants dotted around the city, including Coast, Black + Blue, Italian Kitchen and the most recently opened Nosh.
