FEATURED EVENTS IN VANCOUVER
One of Vancouver’s most popular Christmas activities has announced its return for the upcoming holiday season.
From November 18, 2020, to January 2, 2021, Glow Gardens will take place at the Greater Vancouver Zoo. The Christmas festival, which took place last year at the Harbour Convention Centre, has pivoted to an outdoor setting to create a “COVID-friendly celebration.”
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a variety of holiday festivities, such as giant lighted displays, a 100-ft dancing light tunnel, festive music, and seasonal food and treats.
There’s even a chance to earn a surprise for helping Santa find lost presents scattered around the park. Elves will also be popping up throughout the park to surprise those with extra holiday spirit.

“Christmas spirit is just a little more important this year, amidst all the challenges of COVID,” said Lawrence Jansen, CEO and founder of Glow Gardens, in a statement. “We’re
excited that the Greater Vancouver Zoo is hosting Glow Gardens because of its unique outdoor venue and ability to operate in a safe way.”
“Our team is adapting all the beautiful displays that Glow Gardens’ guests will remember from past years to ensure we can still come together to share the magic of the season while staying safe.”
A number of rules and safety measures will be in place for Glow Gardens. Groups will be limited to six people within a social bubble, and they must stay together while inside the venue. Groups and individuals will be asked to remain 6 feet from other guests, and hand-sanitizing stations will be set up throughout the zoo.
Capacity will also be significantly reduced, and guests are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance for a specific entry time. While masks won’t be mandatory, they’re highly encouraged at all times — and the more festive the better.
Tickets for Glow Gardens are on sale now and can be purchased online. Ticket prices start at $14.99 for children (three to 12) and seniors (65+), and $19.99 for adults (13 to 64).
