UPDATE at 3:40 p.m. – The glass has been cleared from the road. Police have reopened both directions of West Georgia Street between Bute and Thurlow streets to traffic.

A large pane of window glass has fallen from Trump International Hotel & Tower Vancouver onto West Georgia Street.
The incident occurred just before 3 p.m., at a time when the evening rush hour is about to begin. The cause of the fall is not known, but there appears to be no injuries.
As a precaution, both directions of West Georgia Street between Bute and Thurlow streets are closed. Commuters are advised to seek alternate routes.
TransLink says buses that run through the street are being detoured.
While construction completion and opening for Trump Tower Vancouver is still more than a year away, the structure is already the city’s second tallest building. It will reach its ultimate height of 616 feet later this month, paralleling a height nearly equivalent to the neighbouring 646-foot tall Shangri-La Vancouver Hotel.
