My grandfather was diagnosed with cancer and began going through treatment soon after. One day, my grandmother comes to me and says:
“Listen, I may be going crazy, but something very strange has been happening. Whenever myself and your grandfather are just sitting watching TV together, often I will look over at him, and what do I see? I floating head, there is a face just staring at your grandfather. A floating face, that is just sitting there watching him. I see it for about 10 seconds and then it goes away. I don’t recognize this person. Often in the last few seconds it will turn and look right at me before vanishing.”
She tells me this has been happening more and more and she really thinks she is going crazy. The only thing I can think of is to bring my friend’s mother over, who claims she can communicate with the other side.
My friend’s mother comes over and tells my grandmother that these faces she is seeing are family members that have passed. They are there to let my grandmother know that she is NOT the only person helping my grandfather through this tough time.
Now all of this is beginning to sound quite crazy… that summer I took a trip to Germany, where my family is from. I visited my grandparents’ family, whom they have not seen in more than 50 years.
My grandmother’s sister gives me a little box and asks me to give it to my grandmother when I return home. So I carried this little box around with me, continuing on my trip through Europe, not knowing what it was.
When I returned to Vancouver, I gave this box to my grandmother and inside was a locket with a photo of her parents.
Now remember, she left Germany over 50 years ago and has not seen her parents since. The moment she looked at the photo she yelled: “Its HIM! That’s who has been visiting ME! It was my father all along.”
She had never seen him at that age, and did not even recognize him. Since then, the visions have faded and four years later my grandfather is still around.
