Genie Bouchard’s run at the Australian Open has come to an abrupt end.

Bouchard, who was unseeded in this tournament, was beaten by the #4 seed Agnieszka Radwanska in the second round. Radwanska won in straight sets (6-4, 6-2).

Bouchard started off well, up a break in the 1st set, leading 4-2. Radwanska broke back twice, winning the next four games in a row to take the first set. She never looked back.

Genie’s aggressiveness showed both positively and negatively in the match. She hit 25 winners, but made 37 unforced errors, compared to 9 winners and 12 unforced errors by Radwanska.

The second round exit represents Bouchard’s worst result at the Australian Open, given that she made it to the semis in 2014 and the quarters last year.
