Geekenders: Burlesque like you've never seen it before

Dec 19 2017, 6:34 pm

Get ready for burlesque like you’ve never seen it before. There’s a new kid in town, and Geekenders is bringing a unique form of ‘nerdlesque’ to Vancouver’s live entertainment scene.

Life is good for the talented girls and guys behind Geekenders. Their newest smash hit, The Empire Strips Back: A Burlesque Re-imagining, is being held over for an extended run at The Rio Theatre. During a sold-out opening weekend, a 500+ strong audience surged to their feet in response to the ambitious 2.5 hour program. For their exclusive hold over run, get ready to explore the world of Star Wars through theatre, comedy, dance, and (of course) burlesque!

Empire Strips Back Highlights

  1. Droid Love Story: Sexy, rollerskating R2-D2 and spandex-clad C-3PO continue their intergalactic romance.
  2. Yoda: All, that is.
  3. Boba Fett’s creative solo debut: Ladies. Don’t miss this one. You’re welcome.
  4. Stormtrooper ‘Susan’: Helmets paired with lingerie never looked so badass.
  5. Lando’s Gender-Bending Turn: Such a great casting choice. And hot. Did we mention hot?

With giant Tauntaun puppets, Wampas that attack to the dulcet tones of nineties rappers, and a droid love story that has to be experienced to be believed, The Empire Strips Back is bigger, better and more fantastical and sexy than anythingGeekenders has done before!
