Gas prices expected to spike sharply overnight in Vancouver

It’s best to head to the gas station before you head home on Tuesday — gas prices are expected to spike by mid-week.

According to gas industry expert Dan McTeague, prices in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland will spike by 7 cents/litre on Wednesday, September 18.

This means that average gas prices, which have been fluctuating around 150.9 cents/litre, will hike up to 157.9 cents/litre.

The rest of Canada will be seeing a hike in gas prices as well, including most Western Canadian cities and much of the Greater Toronto Area.

The expected increase follows the Saudi Arabian oil attacks over the weekend, which saw coordinated strikes on keyĀ Saudi Arabian oil facilities that knocked out over 5% global oil production,Ā according to a report from Gas Buddy.
