
The Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services are reporting an apparent gas leak caused by construction at 5th Avenue and Collingwood Street in Kitsilano, causing an evacuation order of a two-block radius.
The Hazardous Materials Response (HazMat) team and FortisBC are on scene to control the leak and operate the evacuation.
Traffic in the area has been impacted. Bayview Elementary School, which is near the affected zone, has not affected.
Vancouver Fire is handling the incident, but police warn people to stay away from the area for their safety.
