Recently, I attended my first FUSE event at the Vancouver Art Gallery – and if you’ve never gone, I urge you to go! On select Fridays, the (mostly) adult event features live performances in the Gallery spaces, DJs and eclectic tours.
I was completely swept up into an awesome multi-sensory experience. I devoured the art of Cezanne and other 19th and 20th Century French painters, pondered over more modern works, admired the architure of Herzog and de Meuron, and loved the music.
For me, though, what I see through my camera makes me happiest. And I was lucky to observe the huge after-hours FUSE crowd as they took in the event. Their enthusiasm and delight was contageous. I also shot a very un-Cezanne painting of a skull that caught my eye.
Here are just a few of the moments that I was able to capture.
