We're giving away a full set of new winter tires from Mr. Lube

You don’t need us to tell you that the weather in Vancouver can literally go one way or the other. If you were here for the winter of 2016, you know all about it (and you probably spent some time shovelling snow).

Colder weather has already started to creep in and winter tires are mandatory on designated highways in British Columbia right now (this came into effect on October 1). BC Law states that winter tires will be required for most routes from now until March 31.

Snowstorms in Vancouver are quite unpredictable, but they do happen. And even if you are that person who waits until the last minute, Mr. Lube can swap you over to winter tires without an appointment. All you have to do is drive in when it’s convenient for you.

We don’t want you to end up in a flurry this year, that’s why we’ve teamed up with Mr. Lube Canada to give away a $1,000 credit towards a set of winter tires. Enter the contest below for your chance to win!

The winter tire tread depth for a standard passenger vehicle (or a four-wheel/all-wheel vehicle) must have at least 3.5 mm, as stated in BC Law, so you really don’t want to be in trouble by failing to have yours installed early. You’ll be subject to a fine of $109 during road inspections if you fail to comply.

After you have winter tires fitted, you’ll want to make sure you maintain proper air pressure in the tires to improve their safety. It’s important to remember that tire pressure decreases as temperatures drop so you’ll want to have the tires checked at least once a month – when the tires are cold.
