Friyie, the rising star from Toronto’s Jane and Finch has become the talk of the Canadian music industry gaining the attention of Drake’s OVO and even Mayweather’s emerging record label.
Friyie headlined the world champion’s historic fight as the boxer’s ringman, a feat previously held by artists such as lil wayne, 50 Cents, Justin Bieber. His newest single Money Team was also used as part of the boxer’s promotional tour which has quickly risen to the top 10 on Spotify’s global charts.
While the quickly ascending A list artist might have made it into various playlists around the world, Friyie is focused on showing this isn’t his biggest achievement. In this, he is focusing on building his grassroots following with an upcoming tour set for SFU and UBC as Cxxlaid’s newest headliner for show four.
Curated by Kayode Fatoba, a local producer for Skynation, Cxxlaid is quickly becoming Vancouver’s premier hiphop showcase with notable headliners ranging from Devontee to Quintin Miller.
With Friyie being the first to bring this showcase to campus community, the platform also prioritized a carefully curated lineup sourced from each campus community. Most notably highlighting Missy D and King H, who will also co-headline this show as part of its featured lineup.
With this limited capacity show locked in for September 22 and 23, fans can find more information on lineup, tickets, and more by visiting the platforms website at www.cxxlaid.ca
