One of the greatest sitcoms to ever grace the television screen is coming to Netflix on January 1, 2015. For a change, Canadian users won’t be left in the dark when it comes to programming on Netflix as Friends will be available to its members on both sides of the U.S.-Canada border.
The announcement was made earlier today on Netflix’s Twitter account:

Getting the popular series on the streaming service is a major coup for the streaming service, ensuring that millions will spend the cold winter months binging on Friends from beginning to end.
The show has won a total of 62 Emmy Awards and is ranked as one of the greatest television shows of all time by TV Guide. The series finale on May 6, 2004 attracted 52.5-million American viewers – a number that no other television show has come close to reaching in the decade following the conclusion of decade-long Friends.
Netflix’s successful acquisition could also pave way to the near-future inclusion of another gem from NBC’s golden era: Seinfeld.
