Free ice cream, lemonade and coffee at Stanley Park on May 23

Dec 19 2017, 11:19 pm

Are you planning on heading to Stanley Park this Saturday to bask in the sun? Will you be walking or biking along the seawall in downtown?

If you are, consider making a pit stop or visit to the Vancouver Aquarium as its newly-built, outdoor Waterfall Café will be handing out FREE ice cream, lemonade and Salt Spring Coffee to all Stanley Park visitors.

There will also be things to see and do for the family such as appearances by Aquarium mascot Bee Bop and the Vancouver Canucks’ Fin, interactive opportunities to learn about Ocean Wise, and other fun activities for kids.

The complimentary cold treat and beverages celebrates the opening of the Waterfall Café for the summer season. Visitors should note that the café is fully accessible to the public; aquarium admission is not necessary for entry into the café.

The café boasts a large patio and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the summer months. It serves the same menu as the Aquarium’s main indoor café, including Ocean Wise fish and chips, a wide selection of kids’ meals and cool treats.

Proceeds from café purchases support the Aquarium’s conservation, research and education programs. The café is part of the Aquarium’s $45-million expansion building, which first opened in June 2014.
