Free concerts at TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival opening weekend
The much anticipated 28th annual TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival officially launches tomorrow, Friday, June 20, 2013. Kicking off the festival is a free Downtown Jazz Weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Here is the complete schedule.
After moving the opening weekend to grounds of the Vancouver Art Gallery and Robson Square last year, which almost 150,000 people attended, the two-day free concerts will once again take place in the heart of the city. The weekend has also expanded to include Howe Street, which will be home to a beer garden and food & artisan market.
The weekend’s festivities will also see some road closures (Howe Street open to through traffic only – expect delays) and transit will be rerouted (both #5 Robson and #5 Downtown / N6 Downtown), therefore organizers are encouraging those planning to attend to walk, bike or use transit.
