Due to overwhelming demand, the free Andy Warhol exhibit in Yaletown is reopening to the public on select dates and times through April 28.
The privately organized ‘Warhol – A Different Idea of Love’ exhibition was open daily throughout March, but for the extended dates this month it will be open only on Fridays and weekends during select hours.
The exhibition features 80 original prints and paintings from a private collection in Los Angeles and the Andy Warhol Foundation for Visual Arts. This includes portraits of Jane Fonda, Georges Marciano and Ted Kennedy as well as one of his famous Campbell’s Soup Can paintings.
Warhol died in 1987, but his legacy lives on with his art which is now amongst the world’s most coveted and collected.
“To have a portrait painted by Andy Warhol carried incredible prestige and in many circles was considered the ultimate form of social validation,” comments Christopher Dohm of MAISON AI, a presenter of the exhibition.
