Fox Cinema on Main Street to change from a porn theatre to live music venue

Vancouver’s last remaining porn theatre may become a live music venue thanks to the business people behind the Rickshaw Theatre and Waldorf Productions.

According to the Vancouver Courier, David Duprey of the Rickshaw, The Narrow Lounge and Rumpus Room has signed a five-year lease on the Fox Cinema with a five-year option to renew, March 12.

If it’s one thing that Mount Pleasant needs, it’s another live music or arts venue. Lets just hope they change the seats and sanitize the place.

The new venue is expected to open in the fall, but of course British Columbia’s ridiculous liquor licensing laws could put things on hold.

Could this fill the void The Waldorf left behind?
