4/20 no excuse for skipping school in Vancouver, says VSB

“I was gonna go to class before I got high…I coulda cheated and I coulda passed but I got high…”

As if those classic Afroman lyrics weren’t warning enough, the Vancouver School Board has issued a stark warning to students thinking of joining the 4/20 smoke-in this Wednesday…

….saying that school is in attendance, attendance WILL be taken, and students WILL be marked absent.

“For many reasons, VSB does not condone students participating in the 420 event,” reads the note, which also helpfully explains what 420 is, for anyone too high to have noticed.

“‘420’ – pronounced four twenty – refers to consuming cannabis (marijuana) and identifying with cannabis subculture,” it reads.

Thanks for the heads up, VSB. Do you think they know that Canadian teens are some of the biggest pot smokers in the world…?
