Fortune Sound Club has closed again as a precaution amid pandemic

Prominent Vancouver club and event space Fortune Sound Club just announced it has closed once again as a precaution amid the pandemic.

On Tuesday evening the 147 E Pender Street venue released a statement saying it would be voluntarily suspending operations out of an abundance of caution.

The Blueprint-owned Chinatown club shared that this decision was made after news of increased COVID-19 cases in BC came to light this week.

Fortune Sound Club celebrated its grand reopening the first week of July after being closed since mid-March due to the pandemic.

Here’s the full statement on the temporary closure from Fortune.

Dear Guests, Friends, and Family

We want to thank everyone who has worked so hard over the past several weeks to safely reopen and safely operate Fortune Sound Club.

Following yesterday’s public health news confirming increased cases of COVID-19 within our province, and the cautions about further spread, we recognize our responsibility to support the best interests of our community, and we have decided to once again close Fortune.

We look forward to seeing you all again soon. In the meantime, stay safe and keep those hands clean!
