Come find out! On Thursday, April 5th, 2012, there will be a film screening for Forks Over Knives at the Ridge Theatre to raise funds for InspireHealth, an Integrative Cancer Society in Vancouver.
Forks Over Knives is a documentary which examines the idea that most, if not all, of the degenerative diseases of today’s society in the Western world can be controlled, or even reversed, by rejecting our present diet of processed and animal-based foods, and adopting a whole-foods and plant-based diet. It explores exactly what has happened to society, and why we are sicker than ever with despite advanced medical technology.
InspireHealth is hosting the film screening in association with Finlandia Pharmacy, EcoTrend, and the Georgia Straight. Before the film, you will have the opportunity to bid on a variety of items at a silent auction table, and you will also get a chance to chow down at a healthy snack bar. The film will be followed by an expert health panel discussion featuring Dr Ruth Heidrich, a cancer survivor who features in the movie, Desiree Nielsen, RD, Choices Dietitian, Anelyse Weiler, Communications Coordinator at UBC Farm and Dr Teresa Clarke, Medical Doctor at InspireHealth. The event will close with a Q&A session.
