A summer night market staple, roasted corn on the cob is a simple yet utterly scrumptious dish. Cooked over hot coals, then finished with a light glaze, each golden kernel is terrifically sweet, perfectly charred and lightly salted. Corn on the cob is a great market snack as it won’t leave you uncomfortably full, meaning you’ll have plenty of room to sample more market goodies.

Amazebuns ($5)

As the name suggests, Amazebuns specialises in buns. Not just your average buns however, sweet, delicious deep fried buns. Each serving is made up of six small buns, which are soft and pillowy on the inside and perfectly crisp on the outside. Toppings include ice cream, condensed milk, and sugar. For an absolutely winning combo, ask for condensed milk with a scoop of ice cream. Yummo!

The Maiz Kitchen’s fresh juices are an absolute must on a warm Surrey summer’s eve. The Fresco Ensalada (a mix of pineapple, mango, apple and watercress) is positively fruity and refreshingly cool. The stall’s food also needs mentioning, particularly the Pupusas.  A Latin American dish comprising of thick corn flour tortillas, filled with cheese, beans and pork.

Tornado Potato ($5)

A jumbo potato, sliced up in a spiral shape, stretched along a skewer, deep fried, and then sprinkled with a topping of your choice – cheddar cheese, sour cream and chives, jalapeño and dill pickle just to name a few. This spud on a stick is a fun and truly delicious snack.
