Food Trucks Are Open For Business Throughout Fall and Winter

Vancouver’s food trucks are ready to serve hungry customers even through the city’s temperamental weather.

Local foodies who attended events like this summer’s successful Food Cart Fest and devoted every Friday to Food Truck Fridays don’t need to worry about their favourite trucks and carts closing up shop as the temperature drops and the umbrellas come out.

A little cold and rain won’t stop these trucks, and many others, from rolling this winter:

  • Aussie Pie Guy – handheld Australian savoury pies
  • Le Tigre – Chinese street food with a WestCoast flair
  • Dougie Dog Diner – gourmet dogs, burgers and poutine
  • Mom’s Grilled Cheese – home style gourmetgrilled cheese
  • Eli’s Serious Sausage – handmade sausages
  • Reel Mac & Cheese – gourmet mac and cheese
  • Feastro – the rolling bistro
  • Soho Road – traditional UK tandoori
  • Guanaco – a taste of El Salvador
  • Tacofino White Truck – Baja inspired tacos
  • Kaboom Box – fresh, sustainable and healthy local food
  • Taser Grilled Cheese – gourmet and classic grilled cheese
  • Yolks – poached free range egg sandwiches

Vancouver was recently ranked the third best street food city in North America and the city’s vendors plan to carry on the expectation of high quality, delicious street food despite “non-food truck weather”.

“The ‘off seasons’ for food trucks in my opinion are some of the best times to visit your favourite trucks. Aussie Pie Guy for example will be operating all year round,” said Kayleigh Lum, co-founder of Aussie Pie Guy food truck. “We’re taking the fall and winter to try out new recipes, fix up our truck and things like that. Customers can often benefit from shorter line ups and more promotions during the fall and winter.”
