Comfort food at its finest. Reel Mac and Cheese specialises in, you guessed it Mac and Cheese. Made from scratch on the truck with seven cheeses and cooked with tender elbow macaroni, Reel Mac and Cheese’s signature dish is an instant favourite among the young and old. There are a variety of movie themed menu items to choose from, such as ‘The Green Mile’, which consists of the truck’s classic macaroni and cheese topped with freshly cooked broccoli florets and crispy onions. Add bacon bits, sliced hot dog or blue cheese for an extra $2 each.
There’s absolutely no denying that the food dished up at Vij’s Railway Express is top notch. Creative dishes with bold flavours and wholesome, quality ingredients allow patrons to sample some seriously exciting and tasty eats. As such, one can expect to pay a little more here.
The menu boasts a range of Indian-fusion favourites like the butter chicken schnitzel, which is made up of panko crusted chicken, tomato-fenugreek cream curry and mango raita, and is served with cumin basmati rice and naan. The flavours are well balanced and fresh tasting, the chicken is well cooked and the naan is soft and pillowy.
Urban Wood Fired Pizza offers individual gourmet pizzas, made on site in the mobile cart’s two wood fire pizza ovens. Whipped up right before your eyes and baked on the spot, the pizza has a delightfully thin crust and a layer of super fresh toppings. If the aroma is not enough to entice you the smiles on the faces of satisfied customers will be.
The meals served at the Super Thai food truck are fast, affordable and simply delicious. Try the truck’s freshly made and flavourful chicken pad thai, a filling mix of rice noodles, chicken, tofu, egg, bean sprouts and crushed peanuts. You will not be disappointed!
On a warm North Vancouver summer’s eve there’s no better way to cool down than by enjoying a scoopful of refreshingly, melty ice cream. So be sure to head over to the cute and colourful Rocky Point Ice Cream Truck where you can choose between a range of moreish, hand crafted ice cream flavours such as: vanilla, chocolate and mint flake. Our pick is the salted caramel. It is wonderfully smooth, wickedly rich and delightfully sweet.
If you’re after something a little lighter or perhaps you want to get your hands onto some local produce, make sure you stop by the Valley Fresh Farms Stall. Selling baskets of locally grown cherries, peaches and apricots from the Okanagan Region these guys offer quality summer fruits at a very reasonable price. At $4 a basket (or three for $10) Valley Fresh Farm’s dark red cherries are sweet, juicy and deliciously fresh.
With a selection of exquisite looking tarts, pies and cookies, those with a sweet tooth are sure to make a beeline for the Sweet Thea’s stand. Presented beautifully along a red and white-checkered tablecloth these artisan baked goods don’t just look good but taste mighty fine too! While it’s tempting to snap up the whole lot, you cannot go past the blueberry tart. Comprising of a solid handmade crust, soft marzipan filling and a delicious topping of fresh blueberries and sliced almonds, this after dinner treat is sure to hit the spot.
