Food Day Canada 2011

Dec 19 2017, 1:03 pm

We all know what Canada Day is, but what is Food Day Canada? Food Day Canada takes place on July 30, 2011 and is a nation-wide celebration of Canadian food where 300 restaurants across the country will be celebrating Canadian cuisine. Food Day Canada celebrates the fact that Canadians are becoming more aware about buying and eating local, regional and seasonal Canadian foods.

Studies show that Canadians prefer to buy Canadian foods whenever they can. Around the world, the red maple leaf on a food product label identifies it as safe, fresh, and of top quality.

So, what is “Canadian Food”? Personally, what comes to mind is: poutine, ketchup chips, and maple syrup. But don’t take my word for it. A number of Vancouver restaurants will be participating, including C Restaurant, Raincity Grill, Vij’s, and Tojo’s.
