Foo Fighters return to Vancouver in 2015

Dec 19 2017, 8:50 pm

After the premiere of the HBO series Sonic Highways in October, and the release of their latest studio album Sonic Highways last week, the Foo Fighters have announced their highly anticipated North American tour with a scheduled Vancouver date at Rogers Arena on September 11, 2015.

It’s been three years since the band’s last appearance in Vancouver, at the time touring their album Wasting Light. This year, fans were in for a treat when Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear released their eight-episode musical documentary, Sonic Highways. The series followed the band travelling across American cities, showcasing the history of the local music scenes. Each episode concluded with a track inspired by the city, and the finished product is the band’s latest album.

The 2015 tour, being called the band’s biggest North American tour to date, includes 28 stops, four Canadian stops in Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, and here in Vancouver.

To curb scalpers, the Foos have set a “Beat the Bots: Box Office Only Pre-sale”, scheduled for Saturday, November 22 at 10 a.m. Fans sick of scalper-bots may begin lining up at 9 a.m. local time, after which a random line up draw will be executed onsite during the presale to determine the order of customers purchasing tickets. Vancouver fans can line up at the Rogers Arena box office, and a limit of 2 floor tickets or 4 seated will be allowed. More details for the “Beat the Bots” sale is available on their website.

Regular online pre-sales for the 2015 tour begin on Monday, December 1, with general public sales commencing on December 4 and 5. Ticket prices are currently still unavailable.
