Fog advisory issued for Metro Vancouver

Dec 20 2017, 3:26 am

A fog advisory for Metro Vancouver has been issued by Environment Canada to warn residents of dense fog conditions.

According to the agency, there is near-zero visibility along a number of major highway routes, including bridges such as the Port Mann, Ironworkers Memorial, and Lions Gate Bridge.

Additionally, fog combined with temperatures below freezing can result in heavy frost and potentially slippery road surfaces.

While some of the fog will lift this morning, many areas are expected to see fog persist through the day.

In these limited visibility conditions, drivers are strongly advised to slow down, watch for tailing lights, and be prepared to stop.
