Flight delays hit YVR because of Nav Canada constraints

Staffing shortages at Nav Canada, the agency providing air traffic control for flights, have caused flight delays in and out of Vancouver International Airport Tuesday.
Nav Canada Operations posted on X at 2:30 pm Tuesday saying its resource constraints were affecting some flights at YVR.
“Our team is moving aircraft safely, and as quickly as possible,” it said.
It advised travellers to check the status of their flight with their airline.

Daily Hive reader Nana’s flight from Toronto to Vancouver was supposed to take off at 2 pm Pacific Time, but there’s been a three-hour delays so far. She’s disappointed there’s been no compensation or food coupons distributed. Her flight, WestJet 719, is currently scheduled to leave at 5:10 pm Pacific.
