The Jimi Hendrix shrine on Union Street, just of Main. Legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix lived in Vancouver during his early childhood. His grandmother called Vancouver home and lived in what was once Vancouver’s primarily black neighbourhood, Hogan’s Alley (on the southern edge of Chinatown/Strathcona).

The next time your in Chinatown, check out the Jimi Hendrix shrine.

There has been rampant speculation that the site is up for redevelopment. However, the owner refuses to sell unless the new development houses a new shrine and a statue of Jimi Hendrix.
