So much of the first date vibe can come down to location, location, location. If you’ve hit it off with someone on the phone or via text messages and it’s time to meet IRL, where you meet up for that first date is key.

To help Vancouverites heat things up on the dating front, and to help prospective new couples play it cool, the team behind the Tangoo app have paired up local dating scene experts and nearly two dozen popular restaurants for a few weeks of first date perks from now through October 3 for a fun promo called #FirstDateFever.

Timed to align with the September season premiere of First Dates Canada, a new Canadian docu-series filmed at Earls in Yaletown that captures the drama of first dates, Tangoo’s panel of dating pros (Andrea Hill, Chelsea Pescitelli and Eddy Baller) have curated a list of 23 terrific Vancouver date night restaurants that are offering fun perks to Tangoo app users on first dates.

The list includes spots sure to impress, and others that will help stir up the conversation and “break the ice.” Perks for first daters range from exclusive menu offerings, off-menu specials, or freebies like shots, drinks, or dessert. Daters will need to “check-in” to the venue using their Tangoo app or show the restaurant they’re logged into a profile on Tangoo’s site (for Android users).

The restaurants are also competing for the daters’ affections: They’re looking for upvotes on the Tangoo app, and there are some fun food-and-drink focused rewards on the line for participating Tangoo voters, like restaurant gift cards and cocktail-making classes (perfect for your second date)

Here’s the full rundown, courtesy Tangoo, of participating restaurants and their perks, plus what upvoters are vying to win:
