DH Vancouver Staff Jan 31, 2014 8:36 am

Early this morning, a massive fire destroyed a three-storey apartment in New Westminster.

Residents of the building (located at Ash Street and 4th Avenue) were taken away to be looked after. Fire crews and the New Westminster Police are still checking to ensure everyone got out safely.

Fire crews from across Metro Vancouver were called in to fight the fire. The fire started around 1:30 a.m. this morning. No word yet on the cause of the fire.
