Dig deep and find the fundraising warrior within at Easter Seals Woman2Warrior Vancouver.
Woman2Warrior is a fundraising obstacle course to benefit Easter Seals programs, which help send over 800 kids and young adults with disabilities to Easter Seals camps across British Columbia.
In total, since first starting in 2013, Woman2Warrior has been responsible for over $450,000 in funds raised, including the $125,000 raised during last year’s event.
“We are so proud to be back for for our fourth Woman2Warrior in 2016. Since we started this event, it’s become more than just a fundraiser – it’s become a community,” Amy Kleckner, events manager for the BC Lions Society said in a press release. “Woman2Warrior brings together a diverse group of women of all ages, abilities and fitness levels from throughout the province, all united in their drive to make a difference in their surrounding community. It’s inspiring to be a part of it.”
The event takes place in the form an un-timed 5 kilometre race through grass and track, with hidden obstacles along the way to test your strength, endurance, and courage. Included in the $35 registration fee and $300 fundraising minimum is a t-shirt, finisher’s gift, as well as prizes for overall top fundraisers and best costumes.
“With the success of Woman2Warrior over the last three years, and the addition of events in Calgary, Victoria, and now Edmonton, we’re excited to see what this year holds,” said Kleckner in the release. “We already know it’s going to be something very special.”
