Let’s face it, drinking in Vancouver can get expensive, especially if you shy away from drinking PBR, Canadian or Kokanee. But there are deals still to be had, and good ones at that. Here are the places where you can get some quality craft beer for less than $5 a drink.
Colony
Colony has a wide variety of craft beer on tap that ranges from $5 to $6.50. But this article is about beer under $5 you say? Come here on Tuesday nights when anything on tap is an astounding $3!! Wednesday nights also offer Parallel 49 draft for $3.99.

Relish Gastropub
Speaking of $3 beers, Relish has $3 beer all week long, with rotation selections depending on the day. Wednesday’s are sleeves of Steamworks and Saturdays are sleeves of Whistler seasonal ales.

The King’s Head
If pitchers are more your style then the King’s Head has the answer. $12 pitchers (an average of four glasses equals $3 a beer) of Parallel 49 on Wednesday, Whistler on Thursday, Russell on Friday, Phillips on Saturday and Driftwood on Sunday.

Donnelly Group Pubs
Pretty much any of the Donnelly Group pubs (Three Brits, Butcher & Bullock, The Academic, etc) offer craft beer on Tuesday for $4, Wednesday for $4.25 and Friday & Saturday for $5. Plus you can get their collaboration beer right now with Granville Island Brewing.
Pat’s Pub
Pat’s pub is historic, going 99 years strong, and serves some pretty good beer too. For $5 you can get a sleeve of the feature beer or a pint of Pat’s own lager brewed on site. The rest of the craft beer will set you back around $6.50

For the light drinkers, Cafe Deux Soleils offers glasses of craft beer (8 oz) for only $2.94, while a 16 oz pint is just over the limit at $5.78.

Also serving 10 oz half pints, London Pub has craft beer like Russell Blood Alley Bitter for $3.50. A proper pint of their “London Lager” or “London Ale” only sets you back $4.50 (Tuesday’s they’re $4) but we can’t quite call that craft beer.

The Cambie
Yes, you can get some really cheap beer at The Cambie, like a pint of Winchester for $3.75 which should only be drank by those who have destroyed their taste buds. However, Granville Island Winter Ale, which is fantastic, only sets you back $4.50 for a pint or $13.50 for a jug. Even better, Monday’s its on special for $3.50 and $10.50 respectively.

Ok, we’re cheating with this one a little, but regular draft beer at The Narrow is only and extra quarter at $5.25. That includes R&B Red Devil Pale Ale and Red Racer IPA.
