The voting period for Metro Vancouver’s Transit Plebiscite is now down to its final few days. Eligible voters have only until 8 p.m. this Friday, May 29 to submit their ballots to Elections B.C.
For ballot submissions through the mail, ballots must be in Canada Post’s mailboxes no later than Tuesday – but before the location’s pick-up time. Local delivery of mail takes about two days.
Alternatively, completed ballots can also be dropped off at Elections B.C.’s transit plebiscite service offices located within nine shopping centres across the Metro Vancouver region.
Plebiscite offices are open during mall hours, although the Friday 8 p.m. ballot submission deadline remains.
As of last Wednesday, 654,691 ballots have been returned and counted by the elections office, which accounts for approximately 42 per cent of the total number of registered voters.
The deadline to register to vote and request for a ballot was May 15.
Please note that all transit plebiscite offices are open during mall hours, with the exception of Friday, May 27 when ballots must be in by 8 p.m.
