FIFA13 is 2012's BIGGEST video game launch

After only 5 days FIFA13 has broken 3 records. The soccer game’s undeniable quality has made it the top selling game in 40 countries. 75 independent critics scored the game  90/100 and right now it is the biggest launch of 2012 and in sports video game history.

The highly anticipated game was launched on September 25th and sold more than 1.23 million copies within 48 hours in the UK, a record. After 5 days however, publisher EA Sports boasted that the Vancouver made game has sold 4.5 million copies across all its gaming platforms.

FIFA13 now holds the record for the most active online players in a sports title at one time. 800,000 people logged on and played in the game’s various modes on September 30th, 2012. This is probably due to its robust online modes like Football Ultimate Team (where you create, customize and manage your own football team) and Football Club Match Day (which stages games for you to play that reflect that day’s real world schedule).

Various features were implemented to ensure that no two games will ever be the same, which impressed the millions of players who’ve already tried the game. A staggering 66 million games have been played since FIFA13’s launch.

Andrew Wilson, Executive Vice President of EA SPORTS said, “Every minute of every day millions of fans around the world are experiencing what the critics have already said— FIFA Soccer 13 is the biggest and best sports game we have ever created.” Which is pretty amazing when you think about the fact that over 600 million minutes of FIFA13 has already been played to date.
