FIFA World Cup trophy is coming to Vancouver and here's how to see it for free

The FIFA World Cup is coming to Vancouver next year, but its iconic trophy will be in town a bit sooner than that.
Next week, the trophy will be making its way to the Italian Cultural Centre, also known as Il Centro, which is located at 3075 Slocan Street in Vancouver.
There is no cost for admission to the event.
“The FIFA World Cup Winner’s Trophy is one of the most recognized symbols in sports. It represents passion, unity, and the joy that soccer brings to people everywhere,” said Mayor Ken Sim in a statement. “Thanks to FIFA26 Canada and FIFA Vice President Victor Montagliani, we’re excited to welcome the trophy to Vancouver at the Italian Cultural Centre, and for giving our community a chance to be part of the magic as we count down to 2026.”
The trophy will be appearing on Tuesday, Aug. 26, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
“The adults, the youth, and especially the children of Vancouver have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see this trophy revered around the world – in their own backyard, thanks to one of our own,” said Mario Miceli, executive director of the Italian Cultural Centre.
When does the 2026 FIFA World Cup begin?
Canada is scheduled to play three group-stage matches, in Toronto on June 12 and in Vancouver on June 18 and 24. The Canadian national team could also play up to an additional two knockout-round matches on Canadian soil, in the Round of 32 and the Round of 16, both in Vancouver.
The remainder of the 48-team tournament will be held throughout Mexico and the United States, with New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium hosting the final.
