Name and Twitter handle: Ryan Ventura @ryanventura604

Occupation: Jack of all trades. Full-time game master in the video game industry, well-known ring announcer for Mixed Martial Arts / Muay Thai events, Hip-Hop event organizer / promoter (sometimes performer), part-time beginner’s Muay Thai coach @arsenalelitefit, former writer for USA Today MMA site Lowkick.com, full-time family man, dedicated friend, and I’m probably forgetting something else.

What do you like most about your job? I love the people that I work with, it’s a full-time gig that I truly enjoy. It also allows me enough income and time to pursue the many other interests in my life that I have.

A notable moment on Twitter? I got so many, but when I got #douchebag to trend on twitter a few weeks ago was fun.

Your best tweet: Out of the 33,848 and counting? This is a tough one, I seriously have so many gems. I’ll go with this one “If you spent your whole paycheck or rent money on buying shots for random girls & other #douchebags you are a #douchebag“.

What did you want to be growing up? I wanted to be so many things and I’ve actually accomplished a lot of goals and dreams in my young life. I just continue to push boundaries and do things that at one time or another I thought was impossible.

If you could have dinner with one person (live or dead) who would it be? Hands down for me Bruce Lee. Master Lee was a huge inspiration to me growing up and just to be able to get a few life gems from him would be a huge honor. From his ideas on fighting, health and nutrition, to his ideas on life, he was way a head of his time. Way beyond movies and everything that we all know him for. It would be an interesting meal.

Your claim to fame: I don’t really have any claim to fame. Just ask about me to my peers in the combat sports community in our area, ask the Hip-Hop community here about me, ask anyone that’s met me about me. I’m sure I’ve left some sort of impression on them good or bad (hopefully mostly good).

Do you know of a hidden gem in our city? With the internet, there’s really no more “hidden gems” in Vancouver anymore. However, not enough people who like to eat talk about how epic New Town in Chinatown has always been. Saipaos (meat buns) and beef mami has always been something I look forward to if I go to Chinatown.

If you were a superhero, who would you be and why? Some won’t consider him a superhero, but many in the video gaming community do. I’d be Ryu from Street Fighter. Ryu every game always fights the best, beats the best, but is never satisfied with just that. He always strives to be better, to always improve, and to always prepare for the next challenge.

Recommend a Twitter account that deserves some recognition?

My brother from another mother @scopezvision is a very talented musician, my girlfriend @chelseyanne_ is always funny, @echelonfm is one of the guys that got me into the fight game, and @djjtraxx is always tweeting some funny ish while working the clubs.

Describe yourself in 3 words: Funny, logical, loyal.
